Caretakers Journals

I applied for in home family caretaker aid through In Home Supportive services. The Alta Bates social worker during her stay gave me Alameda rasher than a Contra Costa county I could have a bit of my own while caring for my mother in law. I have been unable to take a job out of the house, she is a wandering risk. If my application was denied or declined is there a number I can call for representation or follow up? Any suggestions about the process and the paperwork please let me know. Do you all know what company they could have been? I have made 100’s of calls trying to improve this situation but it is tough.
In home support services has been out to our house to assess the situation twice and the Altheimers Association has been a great resource as well. It seems like she can get much less (counseling) support and we (the caretakers) can get … very little free group support, everyone just says put her in a home but she is only 64 years old.
As a web developer, I built this dementia care taking website for caregivers like my husband and I are. I want you to feel to speak freely about your own struggles and maybe help share a few coping techniques. I hope more people will have real and effective help to turn to in the future. I have been judged, disrespected, put on hold, hung up on, spent hours on hold and have been turned down for benefits for her so many times,. Imagine how tough these loopholes would be for my mother in law with out the help? When and where are more resources going to be provided?
After a car incident where she took the keys while I was napping with a book on tape left at 7:30 and was found by police at 5:30 in the morning. The woman even made it through a sobriety check. Tough, I spend all day explaining to her why she could not drive my authority is none. I feel my husband is giving her too much attention and she is likely to act outt again. The more she does, the less time she will spend here living with us. Hope others are fairing better.
